Bit of an empty Christmas, just Jen, Joanna, Micky and me doing our best to make it look like we were having a Christmas. Highlight was when Joel 'phoned to report that he and Gina had added a bit of spice to the Christmas celebrations in the hostel in Sydney. Hostel was full of young people who has spent Christmas Eve getting hammered. J&G decided to beet the queue in the kitchen by getting up early to cook the Christmas meal. They had chose a nice piece of pork, and turned the oven up to get the outside crispy. The oven hadn't been cleaned for many moons, so it started smoking. This activated the smoke detector, so at 10am the residents of the hostel were rudely awakened by the fire engines screeching to a halt outside. J&G not the flavour of the month, but the dinner was lovely. Our dinner was also lovely, and the conservatory was a lovely girlie pink, in appreciation of Joanna, the only child available for Christmas treats.
